Detailed safari Itinerary of the 5 Days Uganda gorilla-chimpanzee Tour
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your lodge.
Upon your arrival at the Airport, you will meet our guide from Twende Expeditions who will then transfer you to your lodge for the overnight stay at Central inn. (B.B)
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Pick you up at your lodge and briefing about the five days gorilla-chimpanzee tour then drive to Bwindi. You will Stop at the equator to take photos then proceed to Mbarara town for lunch. After that drive through the rolling terraced hills of the beautiful countryside to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Furthermore, the impenetrable forest is a birders paradise to spot over 350 bird species. Check in your lodge for dinner and overnight at Lake Mulehe Safri Lodge. (BLD)
Day 3: Gorilla trekking
Today will be the highlight of our safari. Have an early breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking by the park wardens. At 8:00 am you will set out into the forest in groups led by park guides and rangers. The movements of the gorillas determine the trekking duration. However, on finding them, you will spend an hour taking photographs as well as observing their fantastic way of life. Then in the evening visit the Batwa pygmies and listen to their fantastic lifestyle after being evicted from the forest. Then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Lake Mulehe Safri Lodge. Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After breakfast transfer to Kibale forest National Park famous for chimpanzees. Along the way, you will marvel at the beautiful scenery that includes terraced rolling hills and traditional homesteads. Check into your lodge then take a nature walk to Bigodi swamp to spot wild chimpanzees, monkeys and a variety of bird species. Then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Kibale forest camp. Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking-Departure.
Early after breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about the chimpanzees and trekking rules. Rally behind the park ranger as you walk in search of the chimpanzees. You will see a variety of bird species as well as monkey species. Spend an hour observing the chimpanzees in their natural habitat as you take photographs and videos. Finally, bid farewell to the home of chimpanzees and drive back to Kampala.
